These lyrics were written years ago, and they came in handy when Brendan came up with the guitar riff.
It came out of a juxtaposition of two basic ideas. The first was the cowboy vampire flick Near Dark , I just loved the images of them driving from town to town at night looking for prey. You gotta see that movie if you haven't already.

The second was seeing a reference to Keith Richards lifestyle as vampire- like. Sleeping all day and wandering the night looking for trouble. Every musician can relate to that.
