Sounds like Joe Strummer and Nick Cave in a knife fight at Johnny Cash's house....

"Christian DeArmond doesn’t seem to give a toss what tags critics use to describe the music that his band, Christian D & the Hangovers, makes. I didn’t ask, but I’m guessing he’s pretty comfy with psychobilly.

With a style that looks to The Cramps, Nick Cave and Elvis, The Hangovers belt out distorted, punky rockabilly on record and on stage as if their lives depended on it."

- Errol Nazareth, The Toronto Sun

Christian DeArmond  is an east coast boy who moved to Toronto in search of the kind of loneliness you find in the city, as well as the big city money. He's still looking for that.

“Anyone who has seen him perform with his band (The Hangovers ) knows that he dishes out a feast of hard-edged, raw sound that reminds you of Shakin’ Stevens-gone-bad-boy meets Nick Cave,” Gricken says, offering a spot-on description of his music and persona.

One of the scene’s most magnetic performers, the singer-guitarist says he just wants to “write songs and then burn myself to the ground playing them live. “It’s like a self-exorcism.
Hopefully, it’s entertaining to watch. If I leave the stage wrung out and barely able to speak, then I feel like I’ve done my job."
